I was out walking part of the Wicklow Way again, the start of it has been changed somewhat – the road made wider due to the forestry work in the area – thankfully it is only like this for 45 minutes walking after the upper car park.
The most annoying part of it though is the burnt out cars left lying. It amazes me firstly that people can get the cars up here to dump them and secondly that they are not removed quickly. Forestry commission workers drive past these every day – maybe it is not their job, but surely someone must be responsible to clear this away. This has always surprised me in Ireland. The way people just dump stuff all over the Wicklow Hills and that the rubbish stays there for a long time – cars, washing machines, fridges, the list goes on.
Any way it was good to get out for a walk and away from Dublin for a few hours.
