PC World Liffey Valley Dublin. There is not a store in Dublin that can drive me as nuts as PC World. Customer service is almost nonexistent. Even asking someone to help as they race by is not met with a Yes – most often “I’m doing something, I’ll be just a minute.” And then you never see them again.
Crazy I think, if they could just manage to work at it a bit better I would end up buying more, but I often walk out in complete frustration, and head into Liffey Valley shopping centre itself to find what I want. Am I unusual? Perhaps only in the fact that I spend so much money on computer kit and often PC World are the only place I know that will have what I need. Perhaps that is why they don’t bother, they realize that we as consumers have little choice around Dublin. I have bought from PC World in the UK and know that they are not like this, I found the service helpful and even friendly.
Therefore it is simply a management problem. Today buying some software I did not have to ask for help, but queued behind four others at the checkout while the person working the checkout continued a conversation with one of the sales assistants, this would not bother me so much if I could get through the checkout quickly, but that’s way too much to ask for.
To illustrate how much PC World don’t care for their customer have a look at their Irish website, oh no you can’t see anything? That is because they have not bothered to put anything on their web site – not even one page showing opening times, location of Irish stores, telephone numbers – no not even that, absolutely nothing. The silence from their website shouts a message to me, loud and clear.
