Irish politics have always been beyond me. Even after ten years in this country I find it difficult to work out the difference between the main parties. I am Scottish, up and back there it is easy. We have Labour – who want to take all your money, but more so control you – scary people, then we have the Conservatives – non existent in Scotland, again want to take all your money but maybe control you less, the we have the SNP – they used to stand for Independence, but I’m not so sure what they stand for any more. Then the fluffy Lib – I give up there – apart from one thing, they tell you straight that they want to take more of your money.
Back to Ireland – with name like FF and FG – it doesn’t give much away. One day I think I will learn a little about the system here – but time is limited. One very interesting items though is that being a brit means that I can vote here in the general election – it appears a bit mad to me, but there it is.
Anyway the General Election is on the 24th May – so some time to learn a little and write it here before then.
