This is the best area to shop in Dublin. It is also the most crowded, so take some time. I find that Grafton Street has not to be hurried. In the past when I first moved here I would find myself at the bottom of Grafton Street maybe feeling a bit down and wondering what I was doing in this country.
I would walk slowly up Grafton Street taking time to stop and listen to the street musician, just drifting up the street slowly and reminding myself how well off I was. Most times by the top of Grafton Street beside Stephens Green I would be feeling a lot better again.
However back to shopping. Grafton Street has it all, from the top end shops like Brown Thomas, the middle like Marks and Spencers, and then Dunnes in the Green at the top.
Then there are all my favorite cafes in the many side street that lead away from Grafton Street, Metro, Sufis, Lemon, and now the new Starbucks on Dawson Street right beside my favorite bookshop. It is easy to spend time wandering around the centre of Dublin.
