Once upon a time eating out was a pleasure, the service was good, and the food toped it all off. However that has all changed in Dublin during the last few years. The norm is very slow and unhelpful service, edible food, and leaving wondering why I went there again.
The last time I was in Cafe Bar Deli was about two years ago, on a Saturday afternoon. The food was great, the service excellent, and I left happy. Yesterday was not the same. The pizza bread for starters was barely edible, hard and tasteless, my main pizza tasted good but was soggy…
The waitress service when we first went in was good, but deteriorated quickly. Every time the waitress walked passed our table she managed to bang into my chair knocking my jacket onto the floor. Not fun. The bill was €80 for four pizzas, two pizza breads and soft drinks. It will be a while before I am back.
Oh, and after asking for the bill we had to wait 15 mins for it and ask twice again, while they had queues waiting for a table.
